The granddaughter of a Church of God in Christ (COGIC) pastor, I was born into a family of believers and ultimately raised in a Baptist church environment that was committed to teaching and nurturing my spiritual growth from an early age. Through God’s grace over the years, I have not strayed too far too long without the Holy Spirit prompting an ache that led me back into the fold.
As I continue to seek out revelation and the truth of The Word, listed below are the foundational aspects of my beliefs.
I believe in the deity of G-d the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
I seek, listen, and pray to G-d the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
I believe that G-d, is the Holy One of Israel who set aside and destined to have a unique relationship with the people and land of Israel. On many levels, the relationship and teaching of G-d and the chosen people of Israel, provides an example for other people groups, cultures, and nations of the triad between G-d’s love and the individual and collective response.
I believe Jesus the Christ lived, died, and was resurrected as part of G-d’s plan for the redemption of sin. Jesus served as the penultimate unblemished sacrifice. As such, it is in and thru his blood and the finished work of the cross that we, as sinful individuals, can be restored to a position of right-standing with G-d. (John 3:16-21)
I believe the Holy Spirit is the ever-present helper/teacher/comforter that guides us to truth and revelation. (John 14:26)
I believe that we, as individuals, are made up of body, soul (conscious and subconscious mind), and spirit- all of which we are called to responsibly cultivate. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
I believe we exist to glorify God. (1 Peter 2:9)
